we meet Maya in the first episode of season 2. she and her twin brother Alejandro are on the run and later on we learn that they are running from the police because Maya killed all the guests at her brothers wedding reception.
this is what she can do as a power. the only one who can survive it is Alejandro. he has the power to let Maya stop.
They want to go to new York to meet Doctor Surresh. they want to meet Chandra. but he is already death.
when they travel trough Mexico, they pick up a man who lies on a highway. the man introduces himself as Gabriel Gray. they don't know tat this is Sylar!
Sylar helps Maya control her ability.
Maya rushes into the house of where they are resting to inform Alejandro of what she just did.
However, Alejandro tells Maya that he found out that Sylar is actually a murderer who killed his own mother.
Maya is at first in denial about it until Sylar admits it.
He spins Maya a story about his mother disowning him because of his abilities,
and how he was forced to defend himself against her. Maya believes it and moves closer to Sylar.
Frustrated, Alejandro leaves the room, returning later to confront Sylar.
Sylar hits Alejandro over the head, knocking him out, if not killing him.
Sylar lets Maya think Alejandro has gone off alone.
Maya then leaves to New York with Sylar to find Suresh.
Maya stands with Sylar in Mohinder's apartment as Sylar talks on the phone with the geneticist.
