As far as we know, Adam discovered his powers in 1671. he is a man in his late twenties to early thirties. He discovers that he can't be killed because he has the ability to regenerate.
Thanks to Hiro he discovers his power and starts to use it. It doesn't take him very long to discover how his power works, and he starts to use them. His power is more developed then Claires .
Adam is sometimes able to regenerate if an object is inside of his body. But Claire has to remove the object from her body before healing herself.
Adams body is regenerating so fast that he is able to survive hundruds of years without getting older!

In 1977 he wants to release a virus, wich is known as the Shanti Virus.
The Shaneti Virus is located at the Company, where Adam is working. Adam tells that he tried to save the world; that to release the virus would be good for a world of famine and constant war that disregards the environment. Former Company Leader kaito Nakamura (Hiro's Father) locks him up and trow away the key. He stays there for 30 years and gets out with a little help from Peter.

He wants revenge and won't rest before he kills all the (former) Company Leaders. Ofcours Peter goes with him. four months after they excape they meet again. Adam already killed Kaito Nakamura and Victoria Pratt
Other company members are dead too, but we don't know yet if Adam killed them.

Powers
Adam has the ability to rapid cell regeneration. His power has improved over the years, so he stops getting older. If his blood is injected in a wounded persons body, it will cause rapid healing of the injuries. The only way to kill him is to cut of his head. because there won't grow a body out of it, and there won't grow a new head.
